Thanks to all of those who made donations to pay for Beauty's surgery. She looks pretty
healthy now!! This is the dog that was thrown from the moving car at a unknown speed.
She had to have one toe removed and dental work done. She is staying with her Aunt
Nancy until her Mommy can come and get her. In her new home she is called "Venus"
because she is the goddess of Beauty! This sweetheart had a tough road but as you can
see from the pictures she has made a full recovery and is very much loved.. UPDATE: Sadly,
Venus' family was not able to keep her and she's back with us at the shelter. She's as happy as
ever - glad to see all of us, but she still wants a shot at having a forever family. Hopefully we'll have
her back among our Happy Tails soon

If you remember our story about the beagles who lived on the wire fence - they were
skinny, had eye infections and their toe nails were very long. They were adopted from a
family in New York who traveled to Fairmont to pick them up . Their new family is thrilled
with them. Everything is going great with the girls. They had a little adjusting to do with the
potty training but doing better now.
From Holly of Lake Lynn, PA: Dear Everyone! Hi!! I just wanted to
say that Sami is wonderful. She had a haircut and looks great!!! The
kids adore her and she is great with them. She is such a joy and we
could not be happier!!! God bless you all and Thanks again!!

Diggins new family sent us a note to let us know how much she
loves her new home. Here's what they said about her:
She went to Petco with us to pick out her own pillow bed and she
would not get off of it in the store. She loves to go hiking at
Cooper's Rock, and she picked up some deer trails and was
sniffing all over the hill! She loves squeaky toys and I have a
beaver puppet that she loves to attack (with my hand in it).
House training is going slow. I think she will learn but it will take
some time. We love her very much and will take care of her.
Thanks so much for her.
Bonnie is on Cloud 9!! She found her forever home at last
and her new owners say they are thrilled to have her and
that she's such a sweet cat! It certainly looks like she's
made herself at home!
Max's new Mom wrote to us: "Just wanted to give you an update
on Maximista (Max for short). Max’s name was Smoke when he
was with his foster family but he now has a new name and a new
home. He has adjusted so well and we absolutely adore him. He
is so energetic it is exhausting but he is so cute and lovable. He
has won our hearts and has the rule of the house. I think we
need a bigger bed – we now share it with our Beagle, Mollie and
Max. Max has a big sister Gracie, but he hasn’t warmed up to her
as much as she would like. She wants to play with him everyday
but he is a little cautious. All and all the three of them have
adjusted well to sharing their home."

Recently we adopted Gandalf and Frodo (formerly Button
and Patches). These two brothers are adorable and so
loving! Both have adjusted very well, are growing and
love all their toys. They have older cat friends, Tequila, 15
and Jinx, 5. Just like little puppies, Gandalf and Frodo
follow me everywhere and are very entertaining. And it's
good they have each other to cuddle up with, which they
do quite often! I hope others will think about adopting by
twos. It's true that two are no more work that one (or
four !). I will keep you updated on how they are doing.
Thank you foster families and MCHS staff for your
wonderful work!
