The MCHS Furry Animal Fair at Anthony Chevrolet/Cadillac is a Day of Fun for Shoppers and Shelter Animals!
|
The first Marion County Humane Society Furry Animal Fair was held at
Anthony Chevrolet/Cadillac on Saturday - the day before Mother's Day.
Shoppers came out to visit vendor tables and buy last-minute Mother's Day
gifts. Visitors also enjoyed entertainment delivered by Puddin the Clown
(what a goofy guy!) Puddin kept the kids busy with magic, balloons and a
host of other talents and surprises. He even got some unsuspecting adults
in on the act!
Thanks to Anthony Chevrolet for their hospitality and for embracing our
fun and whacky day of fun and shopping!
Shoppers were treated to visits from animals from the MCHS No-Kill
Shelter. Dogs and cats from the shelter came to see the events of the day
and spend valuable "socialization" time with community members. Many
shoppers commented about how well-behaved our dogs were! And many
were amazed by our sweet kitties - especially our elegant Calli.

Many visitors to the Furry Animal Fair
were impressed with our "large" and
elegant Calli. Please click on her picture
to see more information about her on our
petfinder page!

Mary Kay, Replica Handbags, La Bing, Rag Bags, Aultman's, Lost
Creek Candles and Mon River Garden.

Saturday, June 28th, 2008 the Marion County Humane Society joined with Purina
for Adopt-A-Pet day. When we arrived at Wal Mart it looked like rain but as we
started to set up it stopped and the sun came out. Just as we were packing up it
started raining again. Purina's Nestle the Bunny was there to join in the fun as
well as many of our wonderful pets. Purina company had many giveaways and
prizes that day. We had several people interested in our animals and one was
adopted that day! We also had a few volunteers forms filled out. We will be the
first in 2009 to use the Purina's new Van. We were the first Shelter last year to be
invited to join with Purina at Wal Mart; now we will be the first with the new van.
It will actually go to the Shelter and pick up the animals and bring them to Wal
Mart. We are very excited about this for this will be the first Van in West Virginia
and we will be the grand opening Shelter for the VAN!!
