Hey Kids and Teens: If you can find an adult to help you, why not start a Humane Society youth
club in your school, or choose the shelter as a project for a group you already belong to!  Click on
the Humane Society Youth or Humane Teens links to the left for ideas.

For Teachers:
An East Dale student is seen here giving our shelter manager
Lori (and Jake) a check for money raised during the school's
"Barking for Bucks" project.  Mrs. Burnside played "Who Let
the Dogs Out" each morning and offered facts about
responsible pet ownership.  In just two weeks, students
collected $454 dollars to donate to the shelter.  Beau, Comet
and Jake visited on Valentine's Day to say "Thank You" to
students.  And great news - Comet has since been adopted!
Thanks again East Dale
!
Thanks EAST DALE!!
Kids who are looking for a meaningful way to
get involved can come to the shelter with an
adult to help socialize the animals.  Playing with
cats and walking dogs are important jobs.
Look at Sophie crawling in one of the runs to
comfort a nervous puppy.  What a generous
volunteer!
These two girls decided that instead
of asking for presents at their
birthday party, they would help the
MCHS.  The girls (Alyssa & Abbie)
had a skating party and on their
invitations they asked for NO
presents for themselves.  They asked
everyone to bring something for the
homeless animals at the shelter.  This
picture is of them at the shelter
unloading all the items.

Thanks Girls!!
Thank You, Tanner!!
(from the animals at the shelter!)
The animals were excited to see Tanner come to see
them recently.  This generous seven-year-old
decided that he had enough toys, so he asked
everyone who came to his birthday to bring
donations for the animal shelter!  He told our shelter
manager that he wanted the animals to have some
toys too.  He gave them toys, supplies and $145!!
Wow!!    Tanner is pictured with his father (Sean),
sister (Haley) and our adoptable Siberian Husky
(Spirit).  What a big-hearted family!!
Thank You!

make a difference in the lives of
unwanted animals.  They made a

Their gift will be used to make our
