Marion County Humane Society: Providing shelter for homeless pets and promoting respect for humanity, animals and the environment. The role of the Marion County Humane Society: To provide a safe and humane sheltering facility for animals. To assure proper placement of homeless animals by adoption or by use of qualified rescue groups; To promote spay/neutering and responsible pet ownership. Most of our animals come from a bad past which may include abuse, neglect and/or abandonment; this is why we are so particular about who our animals go home with. If you would like to adopt a companion animal, one that will be part of your family, please come and visit us.

Our shelter always has a large number of unwanted cats and kittens. Would you consider adopting two? (Ask us about a two-for-one deal!) Two cats are twice the fun - but often not twice the work! When you adopt two, you give them both a friend for life!
We can post an animal for community members for 60 days. If an animal is not adopted within that amount of time, just let us know and we'll put them up for another 60 days!
